Installing and Using the Clip Art
You do not need to install the clip art; you can use the images directly from the CD-ROM when it is in your CD drive. However, you may find it helpful to copy the files onto your hard drive if you have space. In order to use the clip art, you will need to open a graphics or word processing program such as Word, Print Shop, Publisher, Print House, or WordPerfect. Each of these programs will allow you to insert the images found on the CDs. However, the software may work differently even when dealing with different versions of the same program. Use the instructions below for the basics of adding clip art to your document. Consult the manual or Help menu of the program you are using for additional information.
1. Open a document in your graphics or word processing program.
2. Execute the "insert image" command.
(Microsoft Word) Go to the "Insert" menu. Then select "Picture" followed by "From File."
(Microsoft Works) Go to the "Insert" menu. Then select "Clip Art."
(Microsoft Publisher) Go to the "Object" menu. Then select "Picture" followed by "From File."
(Print Shop) Go to the "Object" menu. Then select "Add" followed by "Import."
(Word Perfect) Go to the "Graphics" menu. Then select "Image."
(Print House) Go to the "Insert" menu. Then select "Picture" followed by "From File."
3. Select the file you want to insert from the dialog box that comes up. Use the reference booklet to find the file number of the image you want to use.
4. Once you have inserted an image into your document, you may modify it as the program allows. Most programs will at least allow you to resize the image, typically by selecting the image and then dragging the corners.
